5 stars for this delicious meal. I had rooster with barbecue sauce. Tender as butter and this sauce ... indescribably delicious. Pure culinary delight. We didn't expect that much. Will definitely be back. Nice service. It was great to sit outside. I can simply recommend it without reservation.

We, my wife and yours truly, ate a roast beef each. My wife "through" with fried potatoes and I also "through" with spaetzle. We were both very happy with the food and we will definitely be back. Our little dog got a bowl full of chicken from the waiter (owner?). He'll definitely come with you again! :-) :-)

The food was magnificent. Especially the garlic butter chicken. Wow. I highly recommend this restaurant after walking around Esslingen. Hearing the glockenspiel during dinner was definitely a treat and a wonderful ending to a great day.

Nice place with a nice outdoor area. The dishes we had were all delicious. Chicken were crunchy, the gyros were well seasoned, the salads were crisp and the Kaiserschmarrn was nice and fluffy. The service was very nice and friendly. We would come back.

I am very often here at Alter Wienerwald 😉 in Esslingen. Totally pleasant and great food.

Have two crunchy chicken chess burgers ordered a disaster .... Dry bread hardly any sauce lukewarm something no taste after hours. Always a strange taste in my mouth I do not recommend it to anyone ... and there was no cheese in it ...

We have eaten here several times. It was very good and very pleasant today. We were able to reserve two places by phone and also order our fried chicken so that they were almost ready when we arrived. Great service. Both fried chicken were very good. We sat outside. It is very quiet and relaxing there on Sundays. The service was very friendly. The toilets were spotless. The parking situation is sometimes difficult. That is why we were here with the motorcycle, as there is free motorcycle parking space almost in front of the door. We come again.

The chicken or duck was good, but the side dishes were so good: spaetzle too buttery, vegetables frozen, potato dumplings still raw inside. At first glance, the salad buffet also contained finished products. The furnishings in the restaurant seem to be getting on in years. Service was fine, but once the outside area was opened, there was a little overwhelming.

All of the dishes that were ordered by our table we fantastic. Service was prompt even though there was only a single waiter. Prices are normal for the area but let me reemphasize how delicious the food was.

Unfortunately our food was cold and did not really taste much. The vegetables come from the freezer and the sauces are not even made. The service was nice. I would not go back anyway.

Good portions but unfortunately not so good taste ... The curry sausage was a red sausage with plain ketchup, not great! The hands would be dry ... But it could also be because we were at 22:00 during the week.

There were three of us with huge hunger in the evening at 20:00 clock there. The reception by the host was very nice. After we could not decide what to eat we made the host an offer: plate for 4 (not on the map). Nearly € 40, -. An offer that we could not refuse, besides we are all good eaters. We were not disappointed. Beyond everything. I can only recommend. Also very good in taste. If I come back to Esslingen I will definitely come back here.

Tasty food and friendly staff. However when sitting outside, there are many wasps that like to swarm around the food.

Chicken roast was awesome. Menu said it would take 20 mins but it was faster than that and service was awesome. Will definitely visit this place again since I live close by it :)

I went to this restaurant with a couple of friends after a walk downtown in Esslingen. We were warmly received and were able to order quickly. Two of us ordered the Allgäu schnitzel, which is highly recommended. Worthwhile visit !!

The food tastes good for the most part. But I would keep my hands off the fried potatoes because they are very soft and mushy.

Great food-gotta try the Garlic Chicken!

Good food and fast service. Not expensive. They have someone that speaks English. Opens on Sundays.
